Daniel Pourrahmaty, the artist behind Dani Handcraft, was born in Sweden to Persian parents. As a kid he spent most of his time in his dad’s basement workshop, surrounded by tools and materials, building things with whatever he could find or sketching and painting for hours. That curiosity never really left him.

For almost seven years he worked as a teacher, sharing his work on Instagram on the side. What began quietly soon reached a much wider audience, and he eventually left teaching to become a full-time artist. Today his work has been seen more than 210 million times, with hundreds of thousands of followers and more than 300 originals collected worldwide.

His sculptures have been featured in ELLE, and Vogue Scandinavia gave him a four-page opening editorial.

His style comes from using materials in ways they were never meant to be used. Soft folds, movement and surfaces you want to reach out and touch. The same curiosity that started in the basement still shapes the way he works today.

Every piece is made by hand in Sweden, where Daniel lives with his wife Anna and their daughter.
